Tony Burroughs teaches genealogy at Chicago State University and is the best selling author of Black Roots: A Beginners Guide to Tracing the African American Family published by Simon & Schuster (2001).
Mr. Burroughs lectures throughout the United States and Canada and has been quoted in the New York Times, Jet Magazine, People Magazine, Time Magazine, and many other publications. He's been interviewed on CBS Sunday Morning, ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, and was a featured genealogy expert in seven episodes of the PBS television series, Ancestors.
His research on the Underground Railroad enabled the Kimsey Crossing home in Tamarora, Illinois to be recognized by the National Park Service's Network to Freedom.
