Rhonda R. McClure is a professional genealogist specializing in New England research and computerized genealogy. She has been involved in online genealogy for fifteen years. She was the Data Manager of the Genealogy RoundTable on Genie® for seven years and the forum manager for the Genealogy Forum on MSN® for eighteen months. Her recent endeavors involve the researching of the famous and infamous. She is a contributing editor to Biography Magazine with her "Celebrity Roots" column and a contributing writer to The History Channel Magazine with her "Heritage" column, both dealing with the unique ancestral or familial relationships of the famous and celebrated. She has compiled approximately 120 celebrity trees of those in entertainment, sports, literature, and politics. She has authored articles in Ancestry Magazine, Genealogical Computing, Everton's Genealogical Helper, and Family Tree Magazine. She is author of the award-winning The Complete Idiot's Guide to Online Genealogy, now in its second edition and The Official Family Tree Maker fast & easy series for versions 7 through 10 of the program. Her latest book is Finding Your Famous and Infamous Ancestors, published by Betterway Books, and is her second with them. Her first was The Genealogist’s Computer Companion. As a lecturer she has spoken at national conferences, including NGS, FGS, and GenTech, as well as participating in the Brigham Young University Computerized Genealogy Conference for a number of years. She has upcoming speaking engagements across the country. She is the current President of the Genealogical Speakers Guild and a member of the National Genealogical Society, the New England Historic Genealogical Society, the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors, and the National Writers Union.
